Among the most common Metrash 2 transactions, traffic services are being requested most often, including visa and residency services. This is according to Officer of Electronic Services and Internet Department of the General Directorate of Information Systems at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) Lt. Abdul Rahman Abdullah Jamal in a session with Qatar TV.
Currently, the Metrash 2 platform is offering more than 330 services for residents, citizens, companies, and even visitors. The Ministry of Interior is always actively staying on top of technological advancements as well in order to make things more efficient when it comes to smart solutions.
“The continuous improvement and update of the existing services with Metrash 2 are in cooperation with various MoI departments. This is with the aim of reducing time and effort for the public,” he says.
The Metrash 2 application is also offering text messages to remind users about the expiration dates of their documents. “This is in addition to delivering documents to all parts of the country in cooperation with Qatar Post while minimising the need to go to the various service centres. The electronic wallet with the Metrash2 makes various documents easily accessible to the users.”
In other news, the Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared that effective August 21st, the Japanese visa exemption for Qatari citizens will be in order. Citizens will soon be able to apply at the Embassy of Japan in Doha for the visa waiver online.
