Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality and Ministry of Interior take steps to ensure the World Cup’s success

Recently, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) officially announced that citizens and residents of GCC countries can now enter without Hayya Card. As such, tourists are expected to arrive from Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Oman to make the most of this new policy.

This comes with great timing as fans of the World Cup can enjoy the match while spending their free time enjoying the sights and sounds of Doha. The State is continuously implementing efforts to offer visitors plenty of opportunities to enjoy the event no matter where they are in the country.

Visitors will be able to cross the land border by bus and other means of transport by land, or they can park at Abu Samra border if they have their own vehicle. Those who are part of the exemption and who will be arriving in the State by air can now enter the country without the need for registration through the Hayya platform. Of course, at least 12 hours before they travel, they are required to apply for a permit from the official website of the Ministry of Interior, which will be free of charge. Still, the visitors who plan on watching the matches live are required to register on the Hayya online platform.

In other news, the Ministry of Municipality is also doing its part to make sure that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 goes smoothly by launching an awareness campaign on its services as implemented by the Public Relations Department. Both Arabic and English leaflets have been distributed in the event areas in order to educate visitors of Umm Al Seneem Park in cooperation with the Al Rayyan Municipality team.
