In keeping with the government’s efforts to facilitate online processes for its citizens and residents, the Ministry of Labour in Qatar has launched new e-services on the road to digital transformation. This is another implementation and a move towards achieving performance excellence when it comes to making transactions as streamlined as possible.
In particular, the e-package will offer users the new regulation and certificates service, as well as booking election dates for registered joint committees. It also includes work regulation in private companies along with registration service in the joint committees platform. This service also enables the ministry to issue penalties relating to the provisions of Labour Law No 14 of 2004. It includes the issuance of “To Whom It May Concern” certificates for private concern employees as well.
The online services will have fees charged right away as soon as procedures are done to complete payment processing.
At the moment, there are around 50 e-services that users can take advantage of on the official website for electronic processing. The Ministry of Labour’s Digital Transformation Management Unit is also working tirelessly to upgrade services on the road to modernisation, aiming for an estimated 80 services to come soon. This will eliminate the need for users to visit the Ministry’s offices personally and the need to submit paper documents.
Meanwhile, many government agencies have rolled out electronic services to facilitate the processing of documents for Qataris as well. One such example is the Ministry of Interior‘s Metrash2 app, which provides residents of the State convenient access to the services of the MOI. Now, mobile users can simply use their device to inquire about official papers, pay for company exit permits, create individual exit permits, settle various traffic violations and so on. The app features an easy-to-use UI as well to make sure there are no steep learning curves to overcome.
