Qatar’s Ministry of Labour has announced local job forum in the private sector

A regular forum on job localisation has been announced by HE the Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Saeed bin Smaikh al-Marri when it comes to the private sector. Various representatives from sectors included those from education, manufacturing, health, services, finance, tourism and hospitality, information technology, and more.

In particular, the Tawteen Platform will not only introduce localisation plans, but it will also offer everyone the avenue to exchange best practices and other ideas.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Labour is partnering with educational institutions to help optimise the filling in of gaps in the labour market in line with Qatar Vision 2030. The ‘Education and the Labour Market: Challenges and Promising Opportunities’ event, on the other hand, will connect educational institutions with companies in the private sector to help with this goal as well.

In other news, Qatar is continuously improving its preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2022, encouraging everyone to check the country’s Covid-19 Travel & Return Policy. Particularly, visitors who are aged six and above will need to take a Covid-19 test before arriving regardless of their vaccination. The PCR test result must be negative and must be taken no more than 48 hours before departure. As for the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), it should be no more than 24 hours before departure.

In the same vein, visitors regardless of country of origin or vaccination status will not be required to undergo any quarantine. Those who test positive, however, will need to isolate according to the procedures under the Ministry of Public Health. Masks are also mandatory when on public transport and when within healthcare facilities.
