In the State’s continuing efforts to boost the business sector and make commercial opportunities more lucrative in Qatar, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has taken the initiative to participate in the second edition of the Smart Cities Expo Doha 2022. With a theme of “Sustaining a Future of Resilience”, the event was held at Msheireb Downtown from March 29th to the 30th.
As organised by the ministry itself, the pavilion focuses on a wide variety of initiatives and processes that facilitate doing business in the State. This includes various e-services that make submissions, processing of documents, applications and the like easier, quicker, and more convenient for citizens and residents alike. This also includes the Single Window platform and other services via the mobile app and the website of the ministry.
In particular, the ministry has facilitated doing business in the country with the official launch of its Business Map portal. This can also be accessed on the official website of the MoCI. Here, users can access different investment advantages in Qatar, as well as go through a comprehensive database of commercial establishments. The search service encompasses establishments per region, as well as the establishments that are available and those that are the most common.
Furthermore, the portal also serves as a one-stop-shop where users can view relevant statistics when it comes to the number of commercial licenses registered. This is categorised into each municipality, as well as organised into new and signed-off commercial licences. Users will also be able to check the most updated commercial establishments that have been registered in the State.
With the global platform during the event, the ministry was able to showcase details of the Qatar National Manufacturing Strategy. The most important points of discussion include the Qatar Industrial Portal and the 2030 goals and projections of the sector.
