For individuals looking to acquire visit visas for family members, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has now clarified the different requirements needed to facilitate the processing of documents. In order to get a visit visa for family members, the individual must have a minimum salary of QR5,000. This is for the spouse and for children, while the requirement is QR10,000 for other family members. This includes relatives such as siblings, parents, and the relatives of the spouse.
The explanation for the requirements was clarified at a virtual awareness seminar as held by the Unified Services Department (USD) and Humanitarian Services Office. This was organized in partnership with the Public Relations Department at the MoI.
The service centers and their public service features were also explained according to Lt-Col Dr Saad Owaida al-Ahbabi, head of the Service Offices Section at the USD. The functions of the office, along with the humanitarian services, were in turn explained by Capt Abdullah Saeed al-Abdullah, officer at the Humanitarian Services Office.
As for the applications for the visit visa that will be processed through the Metrash2 app, the visit visa application form must be submitted as a requirement. This also includes a no-objection letter from the employer, along with a photocopy of the company card. Other requirements for the application include a copy of the passport of the visitors as well as a copy of the applicant’s ID card. The health insurance and round-trip tickets must also be submitted, as well as legitimate proof of the relationship between the applicant and the family member.
In particular, the notarized marriage certificate must be presented for the wife and the birth certificate for the children. Lastly, the work contract notarised by the Ministry of Labour along with a minimum salary of QR 5,000 must also be submitted. For other family members, the applicant must have a minimum salary of QR10,000.
In addition, Captain Mohamed Ali al-Rashid from the USD also explained about the grace period when it comes to legalizing the status of expatriates – this refers to those who have violated the residency law.
