At the 53rd World Economic Forum annual meeting, Qatar took part to participate in the various discussions pertaining to the theme of “Cooperation in a Fragmented World“. Held in Davos, Switzerland beginning January 16th to the 20th, the forum was the perfect avenue for government leaders in relevant positions to discuss matters on globalisation, economic innovation, development and the like.
This includes ministers of finance, corporate CEOs, ministers of economy and commerce, and even various social influences and experts, as well as professionals in the field of academics. Other topics on the agenda included plenary sessions on geopolitical crises, green technologies, diversity and more.
Along with plenary sessions were private meetings that were held as well, which encompassed lectures and important seminars to further increase the awareness of the parties involved when it comes to finding the most efficient solutions to challenges that each country is facing. This includes interviews as well in order to boost the cooperation between government bodies to solve crises both in the public and the private sectors.
The forum is not only an avenue for leaders to collaborate on various efforts across a myriad of industries, but it’s also a hub where the annual Global Risks Report is crafted. This publication is based on a survey that targets academics, NGOs, governments, and businesses regarding their perspectives on global challenges.
In the meantime, the Cabinet of Qatar has approved a draft law that amends regulations on the Central Municipal Council. HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani was the one who chaired the regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan.
