In the country’s continuing efforts to streamline processes for online services, Qatar Tourism has made significant improvements to the Hayya platform to help facilitate tourist visas. According to Qatar Tourism chairman HE Akbar al-Baker, “The relaunched Hayya platform has become the go-to portal for travellers who require a visa to enter Qatar. Hayya platform will become the country’s single portal for all tourists to enter the country.”
In particular, there will be three new categories that can apply for an e-visa in Qatar. The A1 category will cover those nationalities that aren’t eligible for visa on arrival or visa-free. GCC residents will be under the A2 category, while A3 will be for those who have a visa or residency from certain countries. This includes Australia, Schengen, New Zealand, Canada, the UK, and the USA. Health insurance will not be required for the A3 category as long as their stay doesn’t go over 30 days.
