To ensure the safety of Qataris in light of recent events, the Ministry of Labour encouraged the implementation of remote working arrangements for all entities in the private sector as well as government entities on March 1st. This was announced in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to ensure public safety and to safeguard smooth operations for businesses when applicable.
However, to maintain stability, both ministries have now announced the end of work-from-home mandates for the private sector, which means that regular on-site operations can now resume. This should hopefully keep standard work arrangements proceeding as usual to make sure business operations run efficiently across the sector, as well as boost productivity.
In other news, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has also announced a return to in-person classes in phases. Students need to be prepared mentally for this daily discipline as well amid regional tensions, which places importance on psychological stability for a better academic focus.
“Distance learning requires intensified efforts to prepare primary students psychologically, given their need for continuous support and interaction, even in a virtual environment,” says Abdullah Mohamed al-Nuaimi, principal of Muaz bin Jabal Primary School for Boys. This also means that a positive atmosphere in school allows students to reduce anxiety levels as well as have confidence in their safety.
Educators and teachers also need to be prepared to offer support to the students during this time, along with parental support. “Secondary students must take their studies seriously and use this period to implement clear, comprehensive study plans,” says Hassan Dibsan al-Qahtani, principal of Al Wakra Secondary School for Boys.
