In order to welcome new scholarship recipients for the year, the Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) organised a special orientation at the main auditorium of the HQ in Wadi Al Sail. With the meeting, scholarship recipients can gain a better understanding of the Scholarship Department, as well as receive inspiration and encouragement.
The scholarship programme, in particular, aims to contribute to the overall development of the country’s human resources. Maj. Gen. Khalifa Nasr al-Nasr, director of the Human Resources Department, was in attendance as well.
In other news, the Ministry of Labour has announced that 4,430 applications for new recruitment were received in August this year. Requests to modify their profession were also submitted, as well as for renewals or work permits.
In the ministry’s continuing efforts to improve the country’s labour sector, the MoL has conducted inspection visits to labour recruitment offices as well. There were 169 inspection tours. The Labour Inspection Department also conducted numerous campaigns to ensure that establishments are in compliance with labour laws. There were 4,675 inspections across different regions.
Other submissions include labour complaints, dispute settlements, employment contract authentication, and so on. The details on the approval rate and the rejection rate of these applications can be viewed in the ministry’s monthly statistics report for August 2023.
