With Qatar’s continuing efforts to streamline the way companies and employees function in the workplace, the Ministry of Labour (MoL) has launched welcome updates to the Unified Complaints and Disputes Platform. In particular, employers can now lodge complaints against employees, adding to the modernisation initiatives of the MoL throughout the country.
Thanks to the National Authentication System (NAS), employers can utilise their smart card to log in and file their complaints. They will also be able to track any complaints they’ve issued in the past, and any authorised representative will be able to monitor previous and existing complaints that employees, in turn, have filed against them as well.
Grievances can also be submitted against recruitment agencies that are registered with the Ministry of Labour.
All these go hand-in-hand with the continuing advancement of the country, especially as the year 2024 comes to a close. Things are looking up as well when it comes to the global economy, with a more positive outlook as 2025 looms over the horizon.
According to the Qatar National Bank (QNB), “All in all, the global economy proved once again to outperform pessimistic expectations from analysts, just like in 2023. Positive conditions across most advanced economies with the gradual normalization of inflation, a monetary easing cycle and a stabilized Chinese economy favoured a moderate global growth of around 3.1 percent.”
