With the country’s continuing efforts to improve its health system, the Ministry of Public Health has teamed up with Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Health Care Corporation to bring the public a new website (www.moph.gov.qa/english/mediacenter/campaigns/withu4u). This new portal, in particular, will showcase the latest updates when it comes to the nation’s health system.
According to Ali Abdulla al-Khater, adviser to the Minister of Public Health For Communications and chair of the Supreme Committee for Healthcare Communications, “Qatar as a country has grown at pace over the past few decades and the healthcare sector has played its role in this supporting this development through an unparalleled transformation programme. We have doubled capacity and activity in recent years and our commitment to quality improvement has resulted in multiple accreditations and awards for the quality and safety of our services.”
In recent years, the country’s public health system has seen a steady rise in innovative measures to improve its capacity, progress through a variety of new specialist services, and more. With the slogan “With you, for you”, the department aims to showcase quality and accreditation improvements, as well as developments in the international standards of care.
“We are proud of what we have as achieved as a public health sector and we are committed to continuing this journey of transformation. Our healthcare teams are dedicated to further improving access to care for patients, expanding our range of primary, secondary and tertiary services, and enhancing the overall patient experience,” says al-Khater.
In other news, HE Minister of Public Health Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari has also recently stated the country’s commitment to making sure its citizens are protected when it comes to a tobacco-free nation. At the fifth anniversary of the Tobacco-Free Financing Pledge at the United Nations, Her Excellency stated, “One of the main achievements in this regard is the establishment of a robust legal framework, as the State of Qatar endorsed and implemented the Tobacco Law approved in 2016 in line with the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.”
