In order to further strengthen the job market within the country, HE the Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Smaikh al-Marri inaugurated the very first career fair in partnership with Lusail University. The event was a 2-day affair where over 40 different companies participated. This endeavour aims to increase the networks between the job market and the academic sector, with employers that come from both private sectors and public government institutions.
With the first career fair, students from Lusail University were able to explore a variety of opportunities waiting for them fresh out of university, as the professional fair coincided with graduation as well. As such, the professional fair was able to serve as a thriving new platform for the students to discover different avenues where they can apply all that they’ve learned throughout their courses. The students were also able to explore summer training opportunities, as well as learn from different methods of academic support from the institutions in attendance.
On the flip side, employers from different companies and government bodies were also able to interact with the fresh graduates directly and in person, which provided plenty of opportunities for them to recruit the most promising talents from the pool. These young and eager applicants were able to take a little sneak peek at the possible work environment, culture, and career that awaited them. They were also able to learn all of the different requirements needed as well as gather valuable insider tips on how they can bag the job of their dreams within the available positions.
With the fair, the officials from different parties were able to establish crucial relationships and even conduct necessary interviews for future hiring as well.
