The Ministry of Labour (MoL) launches its digital transformation with new e-services to speed up transactions and facilitate processes for Qataris. These paperless services not only aim to streamline processes but also to boost customer satisfaction.
“The Ministry of Labour has adopted a new strategy in providing all its services electronically to render quick and paperless services as part of digitisation and to expedite procedures,” says the MoL in a Tweet. “It is faster because it reduces human input and contributes to reducing redundancy to a minimum. It is also more transparent and allows the user to get a detailed description, with an increase in productivity.”
Individuals can take advantage of the services when they’re submitting requests for temporary work visas, as well as when they need to add a government contract to the establishment registry. They can also submit applications for labour recruitment.
According to Gulf Times, these are included in the package:
•Requesting for temporary work visas
•Adding a government contract to the establishment registry
•Submitting labour recruitment applications for government and semi-government institutions
•Submitting labour recruitment applications for Qatar Financial Centre companies
When it comes to organising data, contract details will be stored properly to facilitate automated decisions. Do note that the official website currently has 47 e-services and transactions – on top of that, the Digital Transformation Management Unit is also developing around 80 services and e-transactions to be launched in the future.
Meanwhile, the MoL is also furthering its efforts to protect workers from heat stress. It is also working to spread awareness on the pros and cons of night shifts at this time. “Night shift would reduce workers’ exposure to heat stress. However, it may cause negative effects on workers’ safety and undermine his productivity and health. The accumulated lack of sleep for consecutive days can lead to acute or chronic fatigue, and may increase the risk of accidents,” the Ministry tweets.
