Qatar continues to improve upon its digital backbone as it’s recently ranked as the 6th highest-scoring nation in the International Telecommunication Union’s ICT Development Index (IDI) 2026. This is proven by Qatar’s score of 98.4 out of 100, which is due to the high-quality digital infrastructure in the country including broadband data traffic, 5G network connectivity, fibre coverage and more.

This includes mosque services as well as Dawah and guidance, along with Hajj and Umrah. For instance, users can easily look for nearby mosques via interactive maps, which also includes information on the mosque and its facilities.
Another recent example of Qatar’s continued digital improvements include the Ministry of Transport (MOT)’s automated maritime services, with 11 new additions that bring the total up to 21 on the official website. This includes Certificate of Non-Encumbrance, Safety Insurance for Oil Pollution Damage Request, Sea Protest Service, CSR – Continuous Synopsis Record, Mortgage Request, Transfer of Ownership, Certificate of Specification Amendment, To Whom it May Concern Certificate, Mortgage Release, Ship Deletion, and Lost Replacement.
