In order to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the labour sector, the Ministry of Labour has organised consultative workshops where topics on the National Programme are to be discussed along with aspirations and future goals within the labour market. These workshops will run until October 18th, and will also shed light on the demands of the market for skills and professions, all aiming towards the goal of economic development within the private sector.
There are 8 sectors to be targeted in total, which will also include medical institutions in the talks. Other sectors include the hospitality sector, the communications sector, real estate, the energy and industry sector, services and transportation, the financial sector, as well as the private institutions sector.
All these come in line with the Ministry of Labour’s initiative to gain insights into the best practices for national workforce affairs. Here, the parties involved can exchange their opinions, suggestions and ideas, all in the name of trying to eradicate the various obstacles in place and the difficult challenges that hinder the participation of the citizens in these establishments. This is also in line with the goals of the National Manpower Affairs in the Private Sector.
According to Assistant Undersecretary for National Manpower Affairs in the Private Sector Shaikha Abdulrahman al-Badi, the workshops should be able to empower and encourage Qatari citizens on the road to national development.
Boosting participation rates includes employment itself, as well as qualification training in different private establishments.
