In order to keep everyone safe as the pandemic continues, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has called on everyone to follow Covid-19 guidelines. Members of the community must adhere to these preventive measures to help curb the spread of the virus. As such, everyone is required to wear face masks in closed public places.
According to the Ministry, the government’s Cabinet announcement has deemed face masks mandatory when it comes to individuals aged six and above in closed public areas. These spaces include mosques, public transport, shops, healthcare facilities, malls, cinemas, the workplace and so on.
This comes as a response to the increasing number of new Covid-19 cases every day during recent times. Everyone must strictly follow these new preventative measures because wearing face masks properly is an effective method of reducing the transmission of the virus.
In addition to this, the members of the community are encouraged to get vaccinated against the virus with all applicable doses. Eligible individuals must get their booster doses as well. This comes with regular handwashing with soap and water as well as steering clear of physical contact especially when greeting other people.
Other measures include avoiding handshakes and kissing, along with following proper etiquette when coughing. Everyone must cover their noses and mouths when sneezing. People must stay away from crowded gatherings especially in places with poor ventilation. Moreover, individuals must download the Ehteraz application and have a green status when entering public closed indoor spaces.
In line with this, the Ministry has also noted that over 1.7 million individuals have already received a booster dose in Qatar. It’s important to remember that those who are 12 years old and above can already be eligible for a booster dose if their second dose has elapsed for more than six months ago.
