In the country’s continuing efforts to prepare its budding citizens for a bright career in the job market, the Ministry of Labour has teamed up with Qatar University for the Second Career Camp for University Students. Participants were honoured during a closing ceremony held Wednesday, which was crafted in partnership with the QU’s Career Development Student Association.
The Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC) was also in collaboration, along with a sponsorship from Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) and Starlink company.
Given how practical applications of students’ learnings as applied in real life are key to job empowerment, the five-day Career Camp offered valuable skills for the graduates as they step into the job market. They were presented with insights into a variety of career paths, as well as training opportunities that will equip them sufficiently in order to succeed in the labour market.
This also included a comprehensive program where students were given the opportunity to interact with others in professional work environments, along with workshops where they could apply their skills practically. This allowed students to gain experience firsthand, as well as improve their own exposure to these workplaces.
Hopefully, this kind of exposure should provide them with the right kind of confidence to allow them to navigate the real world, equipped with critical thinking, hands-on experience, and workplace expertise.
