MADLSA announces terms of housing loan and warns against unlicensed nurseries in Qatar

The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA) has clarified terms surrounding housing loans for Qatari citizens. Any Qatari citizen will be able to apply for a housing loan in order to acquire adequate living conditions in accordance with Law No. 2 of 2007 on the housing system.

An aspiring applicant must simply submit the request on the Ministry’s website. This includes requests for a housing loan by a Qatari breadwinner for his children. This service lets a Qatari citizen submit an application provided the following rules are followed:

The applicant must be married to a non-Qatari according to the provisions of Law No. (21) of 1989 when it comes to marriage to foreigners, and this must be subsistence for his children. Applicants may check Housing Law No. 2 of 2007 for more information, or Article No. (2) in Cabinet Resolution No. 17 of 2007 to see priorities and controls for the housing loan.

In other news, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) also cautions against dealing with unlicensed nurseries for Qatari families’ children. Unlicensed nurseries are not only unsafe for children but they also pose risks for the youth when it comes to untoward accidents. During these perilous times, infectious diseases abound, and with unlicensed nurseries, parents do not have the assurance that the establishment is following the necessary precautions in place to guard against the COVID-19 virus. This is due to the lack of safety and security standards in unlicensed nurseries.

As such, the MADLSA insists that every establishment must be registered with the relevant license. This will ensure that all nurseries will be able to offer comprehensive care services for children. This will also include guaranteeing a suitable environment to develop the skills of the children in a safe and secure environment.

For families who are planning to hire workers from cleaning companies, the MADLSA also has recommendations to ensure that proper cleanliness and protocols on hygiene are followed. Everyone is encouraged to make sure that there is only one worker that will come to the house. He or she will have to wear a face mask while working, without removing it during the whole duration of work. The worker must also have an Ehteraz app that should display the green healthy status code. And finally, the worker should sanitize his or her hands with frequent handwashing.
