How to Apply for Social Assistance Allowance for the Widow in Qatar

The widow, in this case, can ask for financial assistance from the government of Qatar. The State values every citizen, and even more so for the underprivileged and those who are the most vulnerable sectors of society. As such, there is an easy-to-use service for widows who did not remarry after a husband has passed away. If she has no sufficient source of income and no longer has a breadwinner, she may apply for a social security pension at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA).

The applicant must personally apply for the pension at the MADLSA offices conveniently located near her. Simply fill out the Application for Social Security Pension of Widow form with complete and accurate information to avoid any unnecessary delays and time-consuming back-and-forths between offices.

Once the form is completed, submit this to the necessary licensing authorities with the following documents:

  • The QID card of the deceased husband as well as the widow
  • The husband’s death certificate
  • The certificate of salary allocation for the husband who passed away
  • For the widow, a proof of non-marriage certificate
  • The determination of the heirs
  • All bank account data

Remember: you must be a permanent resident at the time of the application. There must be no breadwinner to qualify for the pension. The authorities will verify the information in the submission, and once everything is good to go, you will be given a specific date for when you can claim your new pension card.

Depending on the information that you provide, the processing time may take anywhere from three to five working days, with a validity of one year.
