Suspensions on various government services in Qatar
As of the moment, the birth certificate issuing service is suspended due to the growing health threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. Apart from suspension of public events, mass gatherings, as well as fish market auctions and street vendor activities, the government has also taken necessary steps to keep citizens from leaving their homes during this dangerous time.
These safety measures include suspension of issuing birth certificates for newborns, to be implemented in all licensed government and private hospitals. This also includes the activities and services of the Births and Deaths Committee. The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced that the suspension is effective until further notice. However, the Office of Humanitarian Services will continue to issue death certificates. Citizens may contact the Births and Deaths Committee headquarters at 44092144/44092145/55410701 for any urgent concerns between 7am to 11:30am.
Furthermore, the PSA suspends all kinds of field work for the 2020 Census. The Planning and Statistics Authority suspended these activities until further notice. Collecting data for individuals and families is part of the General Census of Population, Housing, and Establishments 2020. However, the suspension comes as part of the precautionary measures that the State of Qatar is taking to help limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This will greatly benefit families, individuals, and field researchers and place great value on their safety.
There will also be various vehicle inspections that are suspended until further notice for the benefit of citizens everywhere. Should anyone wish to make payments or register for vehicle inspections, these can be done via the Woqod mobile app in co-ordination with the Traffic Department.
Available on iOS and Android platforms, the Woqod mobile app features a Fahes page where users will be able to “Request New Fahes Inspection”, check “Fahes Station”, review “About Fahes”, and learn about “Inspection Tips”. Users can click on the Request New Fahes Inspection section.
Once in the landing page, you will need to input your Qatar ID number, your mobile number, your car plate number, your plate type, and your e-mail address. Simply click “Submit” once all of the pertinent data has been entered accurately and completely. Input your mobile number as well so that the inspection report will be sent to that contact info.
According to the statement on the matter, “Enter the card details and make the payment. After completion of the payment, the registered mobile will receive a payment receipt. Renew the insurance and login to Metrash2 to have the registration certificate renewed.”
