Qatar real estate development on the horizon with Cabinet committee

The development of the real estate sector in Qatar has a positive outlook for the future as the Cabinet approves a decision to form a committee on this matter. This committee will be formed to help develop strategies for the enhancement of the real estate sector in the country.

The approved committee will be held responsible for implementing various tactics when it comes to the emerging real estate sector in the nation. During the regular meeting of the Cabinet on Wednesday, it has been discussed that according to the new project, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment will be in charge of establishing a temporary committee for these developments. The committee will be chaired by HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment.

There will also be certain designated authorities that will form the overall membership of the said committee. This move comes from the continuing efforts of the government to ensure that Qatar follows and even exceeds the highest standards of excellence when it comes to all local and international matters and best practices. The committee will have the power to propose certain policies, schemes, and plans that are necessary steps to take in order to fully develop the real estate sector in more ways than one. A governance system for the sector will also be developed by the said committee, along with the ability to propose numerous productive methods to regulate and support investments in real estate.

This important step is to help ensure that local and foreign investments in the sector continue to rise in all of the years to come, proving time and again that Qatar has one of the most lucrative investment landscapes in both the region and in the whole world.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani chaired the Cabinet meeting at the Amiri Diwan. The details of the meeting, furthermore, were revealed in a statement by HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi.

Recently, the Cabinet has also given its approval in taking appropriate decisions regarding the issuance of a draft law on railways. These decisions came after deliberation and after a thorough review of the Shura Council’s recommendations concerning this matter. Along with this is also the issue of approving a draft agreement between the Qatar government and the government of Jamaica regarding aerial services.

Finally, HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment issued a report on the results of the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture, which was also reviewed by the Cabinet. Appropriate measures were undertaken as well to promote the enhancement of these sectors for the betterment of the citizens and the country as a whole.
