On Commercial Registration Renewal
In order to have your commercial license renewed, you must submit a request to the Commercial Registration and Licenses Department of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI). There are a variety of ways to have your commercial register renewed, one of which is via the service center at the MOCI or at any of its conveniently located branches.
Simply download the application form and have it duly filled out upon submission. Keep in mind that this must be signed by an authorized signatory for it to be considered valid. You must pay the appropriate fees, and this may also include fees for the Qatar Chamber membership. The MOCI headquarters is located at the first floor in Lusail City.
If you wish to have your register renewed online, simply log in to Investor Services and enter your respective username and password. From the “Renew Registers and Licenses” list, choose “Renew Commercial Register” and enter the necessary data when prompted. You must have certain documents ready to be attached in order to continue. The application will be reviewed and approved by the MOCI. Once your commercial registration certificate is approved, you will be duly notified and you must pay the necessary fees before the certificate is issued.
For your convenience, you may also apply via the MOCI mobile app. Regardless of the method of renewal, you will need the following documents for an individual organization:
- A copy of the ID of the applicants
- A copy of the ID of the legal representative of the organization or the authorized signatory
For a limited liability or a partnership company, you will need the collective acknowledgment from the partners in the company (take note that this must be made on the letterhead of the company along with the necessary company stamp), as well as the copy of the ID of the authorized signatory.
The commercial registration is valid for a full year and can be renewable thirty days before the expiration date. In the case where the renewal process is not completed within a period of 90 days, the Ministry can delete the registration.
It is extremely important, then, to have your commercial registration renewed as soon as possible to ensure that your company can continue conducting the necessary day-to-day operations after you have successfully established your company in Qatar. In order to make sure that all of your requirements are submitted on time and with complete details and attachments, it helps to have a trusted and professional business consultancy partner to assist you with all of the necessary submissions. You can rely on solid relationships with the necessary bodies of government in order to facilitate submissions and ensure the accuracy of all translations, attestations, and certificates without a hitch.
