How to Request to Renew Health Card in Qatar

It’s important to be able to request for a new health card during renewals whether you’re a citizen or a resident in the State of Qatar. The Health Card is an essential piece of identification and documentation that will provide you with valuable subsidies when it comes to your medical costs in the country. You can renew your health card via the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) both for you and for your family members so that you can continue to enjoy the many privileges of the health card in accredited healthcare facilities in the country.

Fortunately, it’s incredibly easy to renew your health card via quick online methods. You simply have to fill out the form online with the necessary information that is required on the website. You will be asked to input your Qatari ID number. Afterward, you can select “Renew (Update Expiry Date)” when the page for the “Card Information” pops up. Once you have provided your Qatari ID number, simply click “Next”.

In order to renew the card, select “Number of Required Years”. Then, input your telephone number once the “Application Form” page appears. You will also be asked to enter your valid email address should you wish to receive your receipt voucher via email (make sure that you choose “Yes” here when prompted). If you want to receive SMS notifications, you can also provide your cell phone number.

Once you have provided all of the pertinent information, you can move on to the “Payment Details” page by clicking “Next”. Then, select “Pay” and provide the appropriate fees before submission.

In case you want to go through the offline renewal method, you simply have to pay a quick visit to any of the conveniently located HMC facilities near you. You can also head on over to a health center that is affiliated with the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC).

Once there, you should be able to provide a copy of your valid ID or your passport for Qatari adults. This also includes a requirement of a passport-sized photo measuring 4cm x 3cm. Qatari children must have their ID number and their old health card. For GCC National Adults, a copy of your ID with your Qatar personal identity number will be required, as well as your old health card for renewal. A GCC National Child will also need a copy of their ID with their Qatar personal identity number as well.

Adult residents need to submit a QID with valid residence permit just like children residents (the original QID of the sponsor is needed in this case). Domestic staff will need the same. Pay the necessary fees for processing, and you should be good to go. The cashier counter of an HMC facility will be open during regular work hours in the morning.
