How to Renew or Cancel Telecommunication Equipment Approvals in Qatar
From the date that the Authorized Importer registration is issued, it will be valid for 3 years before it needs to be renewed. Renewals must be submitted to ictQATAR when that period ends. In the application form, you must duly indicate what the purpose of the authorization request is.
Tick “New” if you are applying for a new registration to request for authorization to import RTTE. If it is a renewal or other types, tick the “renewal”, “modification”, or “cancellation” boxes accordingly. Note that you must submit the form along with a copy of your valid commercial registration in Qatar, as well as a Letter of Power of Attorney if the person signing is doing so on behalf of the applicant. Include all of the details of your request, especially if it is to modify, renew, or cancel existing entries.
If you have further concerns, you can always consult the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) handbook. This was designed to address directly and simply all of the frequently asked questions that consumers may have regarding Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services and products in the country.
For online applications, you can use your smart card to log in to Hukoomi as this service can help you renew or cancel any existing import authorization of radio and telecom terminal equipment. This will also include submitting and managing your applications and payment of fees online.
Once logged in, choose the company you wish to renew or cancel your registration for. Include all relevant data such as the details of the permit, the permit number, the municipal license number, the registered commercial registration number, and the like. Make sure that all of the information you provide is accurate and complete.
As for the information on the company, enter all of the necessary information including the Commercial Registration (CR) Number and the Commercial License that was registered with the permit in question.
Attach pertinent personal identification documents and passports. You may also include the Ooredoo Qatar training center certificates of your technicians, if any. This is especially useful if you are renewing block wiring activity with employees under company sponsorship.
Once you have submitted all of the necessary information, staff from the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) will review the application as it is lodged in the system. You will be given an application number after an initial check. This is to help confirm that the application details are correct and complete.
The staff with approval authority in the CRA will review, and you will be informed of any updates via SMS. Once your application is approved, you will have to pay the necessary fees for the process. After you have settled outstanding fees (if any), your permit will be renewed or cancelled. This new permit will be valid for 2 years.
