How to Issue and Renew Tax Card in Qatar
In the State of Qatar, each taxpayer should have a tax card if they are to carry out an activity or derive any kind of taxable income within the country. The taxpayer should submit their request to the General Tax Authority for issuing or even for renewing their tax card.
Once the competent authority provides its approval to start the activity, the card will be issued within thirty days from the day it was obtained. The basis of the date can also be on the first day of the realization of any income, or the date of entry into force of the Law No.21 of 2009. The date determined will be whichever is earlier for the taxpayer carrying out that activity.
To submit a request to the General Tax Authority, every taxpayer can avail of the convenient options at their disposal online. Simply fill up the online form and input all of the pertinent information. When prompted, attach a copy of your commercial registration, as well as the articles of association and the QID of your partner or partners.
Finally, click “Submit”.
If you wish to submit the request offline, you can also proceed with filling out the online form. Once you have supplied all of the relevant information, simply print the form. Make sure that you also attach a copy each of your articles of association, the QID of the partner or partners, and the commercial registration. You can submit all of the necessary documents to the Service Center of the Commercial Registration Building in Lusail.
Pleas bear in mind that the name should be duly provided as it appears in the taxpayer’s passport. You can also use any other official identification document.
Once everything is in order and properly submitted without any missing documents and other requirements, you can expect the service to take about three working days before its completion. When the application is properly processed and there are no more additional data required form you, your tax card copy will be sent to you via e-mail. It can also then be viewed from e-services in the incoming messages section.
