How to inquire about establishments’ ban and send complaint in Qatar
It’s important for companies to be able to check how corporations are doing both for the benefit of employers and employees alike. Different kinds of business establishments can check the online service from the e-services portal of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA) in order to follow-up or observe the progress of their banning status online.
This helpful online service also allows companies to check the circumstances behind the banning of the business. This is to assist with the removal of the violations made to the provisions of Law No.14 of 2004. Getting banned is very costly to a company, so it’s important to provide quick and actionable solutions to resolve these violations immediately. At the same time, this online service will help companies and business owners to implement regulations that refer to this.
Business owners simply need to log in to the e-services portal of the MADLSA. Then, a company rep should input the establishment ID, personal QID, and mobile numbers that were used during the previous registration of the company. This should match the details used in the company’s details that were initially registered at the Ministry. Select “Login” and check the status of the company there.
On the flip side, employees should also be aware of their own rights inside the company they are working for. If a business is in violation of certain provisions that led to its banning status, then the workers themselves should also be fully aware of how to protect their own rights as employees.
For instance, the Wage Protection System (WPS) helps protect the rights of workers in Qatar to receive their salaries properly through an electronic salary transfer system in cooperation with the Qatar Central Bank. If payments are not made in full and on-time, then the employee can make a claim with the Labor Court. Companies who are found to be in violation will be subject to costly penalties as well as be banned from interacting with the Ministry for any kind of support.
The Qatar Labor Law encourages employees to speak up by submitting a labor complaint to the Work Relations Department. You can simply send an SMS to 92727. Select 5, input your Qatar ID number, and send. You can also send a labor complaint to the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC). Simply fill out the online form and provide all the information that is required from you, then hit “Submit.
You can also submit your complaint in person. Bring a copy of your identification card or a copy of your passport or visa. Don’t forget to attach all of the necessary documentation as well. You can print the complaint form or send it by fax to (00 +974 444-44013) or by email to info@nhrc.org.qa.
