How to Get Building License Request in Qatar
A building license can be issued online simply by requesting one at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA). Just completely fill out all of the required data in the online form. Don’t forget to choose the license type so that you will know what the required attachments should be.
All property owners and developers are duly required to apply in order to add buildings to their existing properties. They should also apply for permits before they can be allowed to construct any type of building in the State of Qatar. For all kinds of construction licensing, the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning oversees these activities.
When it comes to the designs of the buildings, these are all subject to approval by the Urban Planning Authority (UPA) and Designs Monitoring Unit (DMU).
In order to apply for a building permit, you must submit a completed application form, which should include accurate personal details relevant to the request, namely, the building and site details as well as the land owner details. Make sure to include the title deed, the ID and proof of legal representation, and appropriate fees.
Once submitted and with complete information, it will be validated and then the application will be transferred to the UPA and DMU. Here, an engineer will check the design and study its details for approval. If needed, the engineer will also make recommendations to the proper relevant authorities. You should be able to receive the permit by mail or in person once it is approved and everything is in order.
These building permits may also be duly renewed through the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning.
When it comes to the Maintenance Demolition License, these must also be acquired by individuals or businesses looking to perform major maintenance activities on their existing properties. The same is true for demolition of the buildings within the municipality. The approval from the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning will depend on the type of work that will be required for the maintenance or demolition, as well as on the location of the property or building.
Furthermore, a Construction Completion Certificate must be acquired once a construction project has been completed, as is the responsibility of the Building Permit holder. As such, the proper authorities will make sure that the finished project is in line with the original drawings and the specifications that were initially submitted to the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning. If everything meets the right criteria, the ministry will then issue a certificate that will officially authorize the completion of the construction project.
