How to Check Health Card Expiry in Qatar

Everyone can easily check the status of their health card in Qatar. The Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) makes it incredibly convenient for citizens and residents to conduct various affairs and check inquiries online.

Individuals simply need to fill out the online form and provide all the necessary information as prompted.  Make sure to input your Qatari QID number and choose “Check Expiry”. Then, click on the link that says “Next”. The details will then be displayed accordingly.

If you wish to do the procedure manually offline, you may proceed to any HMC facility. You can also visit a health center that is duly affiliated with the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC). Once there, simply provide the required information as well when you inquire about your health card expiration.

You may find the service center at the Cashier Counter of any HMC facility, or the PHCC center that is in the closest proximity to your area of residence.

While the online service is open 24/7 and the service is conducted immediately, the offline services at the centers will only be able to process your request during proper working hours. You may check the working hours and schedules at the Health Center section of the PHCC website.

Now, what is the purpose of a health card in Qatar? With a health card, citizens and residents of the State can have easy access to services from facilities or hospitals accredited with the Hamad Medical Corporation. The health card will provide information on an individual’s ID number, nationality, photo, and date of issue.

For individuals with a health card, many consultations or non-emergency treatments can be subsidized. Some may incur additional costs, but with a health card, individuals may also have their prescriptions filled at subsidized rates in a government-run pharmacy.

You must pay a visit to the Primary Health Care Center (PHCC) nearest to your area of residence in order to obtain a health card. Fill out the necessary forms when prompted, and you will receive a PHCC health file number. Make sure that you bring copies of your passport or your ID, as well as a passport-size photo with dimensions of 4cm X 3cm.

For children, requirements include the birth certificate with the Qatar personal identity number. This may also include the passport, a passport-size photo, and the vaccination card as well as any necessary fees. GCC National Adult Residents will need to submit a copy of your passport or your ID. This should include information about your Qatar personal identity number. Residents will also be required to submit a valid residence permit.
