How to Apply for the Best Sponsor of Productive Families’ Award in Qatar

As organized by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor, and Social Affairs (MADLSA), companies can easily apply for the Best Sponsor of Productive Families’ Award. This application should be made within two months of the announcement of the award on social media platforms, which also includes newspapers, radio, and television. Take note that all procedures must be in accordance with the stipulated terms and conditions of the award.

If a company wishes to apply as a sponsor, it must offer support in the form of financial assistance or technical support such as granting free spaces for the productive family to make use of. It may also offer any other type of support to productive families as it sees fit.

To submit an application, simply download the application form and fill it out accordingly with complete and accurate information. This application form is available on the service information page. You can find it on the “E-Services & E-Forms” page; then, select the “Family Affairs Department” menu on the “E-Services & E-Forms” page. As for the required documents, applicants should supply a copy of the applicant’s Qatar ID card, as well as a copy of the certificates of participation in domestic and foreign marketing events. These supporting documents and the duly completed application form must be submitted to the Family Affairs Department in Al Huda Tower.

It’s important to note that the evaluation criteria for the Award include innovations in modern creative standards, sustainability, and the extent of the financial gain that the sponsorship will achieve.

Last year in 2019, a QR600,000 prize was given out in order to encourage productive families. This was done in collaboration with Qatar Charity, as a cooperative agreement was signed between the said organization and the MADLSA. From December 14 to 17, an associated exhibition “Aswaq” (bazaar) was held at Katara Cultural Village. A total of 76 productive families were in participation.

The event showcases the interest of the Ministry to direct its support to productive families so that they can promote their products via local exhibitions. This is also an avenue for the productive families to participate in international exhibitions, as well as further boost support for handicrafts and traditional crafts to preserve the heritage and culture of these products for the next generation. With these kinds of events, families can take advantage of different opportunities to achieve further growth.

According to Najat Al Abdullah, Director of the Family Affairs Department, “The prize for the best productive family should go to a productive family, taking into account the number of its participation in events and exhibitions inside and outside the country, training courses and workshops organised by the ministry.”
