How to Apply for Social Security Pension for the Elderly Married Woman in Qatar

In Qatar, any elderly married female citizen may apply for social security pension provided that she is over 60 years of age and has no breadwinner. She must not have enough income to live, and if so, she may apply for a social security pension at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA).

To do so personally, the applicant may make an application request by visiting the MADLSA offices. Here, she must complete the Application for Social Security Pension of Elderly Married Woman form. This form can be obtained at the offices themselves, or they can also be downloaded from the MADLSA Website.

When filling up the form, make sure that you input all of the correct details as thoroughly and accurately as possible. You must submit the completed form to the licensing authorities, plus the necessary required paperwork. As soon as the relevant authorities verify the information and validate the documents that have been submitted, you will then be requested to collect your new Social Security pensioner’s card on a particular date.

If you wish to apply for this benefit, you have to make sure that you are residing permanently in the country during the time of your application to ensure that you qualify for the pension.

As for the required paperwork, you will need to submit the QID card of the elderly wife as well as the QID of the husband. Then, submit the husband’s salary certificate as well. You will also need to have valid proof that the elderly wife is not employed. This should also prove that the elderly wife does not have any pension salary.

On top of that, you will need to submit a bank account certificate. This pension will be valid for a full year.

If you wish to know more about the social pension system, it helps to know that it covers the public sector Qatari employees as well as some categories of workers from the private sector. This also includes Qatari citizens who are working in the Gulf Cooperation Countries (this refers to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, or the United Arab Emirates).

Note that this pension excludes people who are self-employed, as well as household and family workers, and foreign workers. The source of funds for the insured person is 5% of gross earnings, while the employer takes care of 10% of gross payroll.

For more information and for other inquiries relating to the MADLSA, you may reach them at the MADLSA Mobile SMS Service with the number 92727 to receive SMS as long as you register your mobile in order to apply for some services.
